Hello everyone! I'm Amy, your new freshman blogger, and I am so excited to begin college at John Carroll in the fall! Having lived in Hillsboro, a small farming community in Southern Ohio for most of my life, I am ready to see everything that life in a big city has to offer! At JCU I am going to major in biology and pursue a career as a pediatrician.
Service is also a very large part of who I am. I volunteer at many places, such as my local nursing home and Y.M.C.A. I love working with kids in my community. I am really looking forward to continuing to volunteer in Cleveland as a John Carrol Arrupe scholar. In addition to volunteer work, I enjoy shopping, dancing, singing, scrap booking, playing sports (just for fun), and skiing (both water and snow).
Interesting things about me: I am the second oldest of 6 kids. My family is often compared to the Brady Bunch because there are 3 girls and 3 boys. You have to get up pretty early every morning to keep up with me...I'm up by 4:30 every morning...without an alarm! (Hopefully, that will change in college!) I have decided that it is impossible to listen to music (my favorite is Christian rock) and not sing along!
