Sorry for the delay in blogging. There is an aspect to college called studying and doing your homework, and I've been very caught up in that lately. But I will tell you about some fun things I've been squeezing in alongside the very important task of studying.
Last Friday SUPB (Student Union Programming Board) sponsored a trip to Mapleside Farms. We hopped on a school bus and they drove us over at night. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and took a hay ride through the orchard. It was parent and family weekend, so the trip was a huge hit!
Saturday my family came up and we ate at the Melt, which was featured on Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel! It was very delicious. Their menu consists of over 20 different grilled cheese specialty sandwiches. For example, I had a sandwich with pierogies (since I'm Polish and love them) along with melted cheese and onion. A lot of other restaurants in Cleveland have been featured on the Travel Channel and the Food Network, so if you're coming to visit you should check them out!
Think you are done celebrating Halloween once you go to college? Think again! Last night one of our fraternities on campus sponsored a Halloween dance at Jake's Speakeasy across the street from campus to raise money for their philanthropy. You and your friends get to dress up in your favorite costume and dance the night away! It was a blast, and we saw so many of our friends over there.
Even through the weather is getting colder and the leaves are falling off the trees, I still recommend a campus visit if you haven't taken one already. We also have a Blue Streak Preview Day next Sunday, so if you don't want to skip school it's a great opportunity to check out all Carroll has to offer!
