FAFSA Confirmation

The JCU Office of Financial Aid (OFA) is now sending out an email confirmation to incoming freshmen once we receive their FAFSA. If you completed the FAFSA at least 2 weeks ago and have not received a confirmation email , or other correspondence from us, please contact the OFA immediately so that we may resolve the situation.

Financial Aid Awards Hit the Mail Last Week!

The first batch of financial aid award letters hit the mail early last week with another large batch going out today. We will continue to mail out award letters on a weekly basis going forward. Once you receive your award letter, please feel free to contact the OFA if you have any questions.

This Sunday is College Goal Sunday!

Any family looking for help completing the FAFSA should come to JCU on Sunday at 2:00 pm for College Goal Sunday!

The day will begin promptly at 2p.m. and should conclude no later then 4 p.m. We have over 20 volunteers from local colleges and universities ready to assist you in completing your 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and answer any question you have on the process.  In order to make the day as successful as possible you will want to bring the following:

Parents and students should bring their latest tax information and/or last pay stub from the previous year in order to complete the form. The FAFSA form allows families to estimate their financial information, which can be corrected after their taxes have been completed.

  • Your Social Security Number (can be found on Social Security card) 

  • Your driver's license (if any) 

  • Your W-2 Forms for the previous year and other records of money earned 

  • Your (and your spouse's, if you are married) most recent Federal Income Tax Return — IRS Form 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, 1040Telefile, foreign tax return, or tax return for Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia 

  • Your parent's Federal Income Tax Return for the previous year (if you are a dependent student as defined by federal criteria) 

  • Your untaxed income records for the previous year — Social Security, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, welfare, or veterans benefits records 

  • Your current bank statements 

  • Your current business and investment mortgage information, business and farm records, stock, bond, and other investment records 

   

  • Bring documentation that you are a U.S.permanent resident or other eligible noncitizen. 

  • Calculator and pencils/pens

Perkins Loan Sign Up

All students awarded and accepted Perkins Loans MUST sign for their loans February 5-6, 2008 in the Student Service Center between 9-11:30 am and 1:30-4:30 pm. Perkins Loan funds will not credit your student account unless you sign for the loan. Please contact the Office of Financial aid at 216-397-4248 if you have any questions regarding your Perkins Loan.
