Awarding Season

It's that time of year!  The Office of Financial Aid is busy awarding.  As we delve in, we wanted to keep you updated on where we are in the process... 

INCOMING FRESHMEN:  Awards have been mailed out to families who have completed the 2009/2010 FAFSA.  (It is not too late to complete the FAFSA.  Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete the form and include John Carroll's school code:  003050)  To accept your award, you will need to log in to Banner off of the JCU website.  Please contact our office should you have any questions regarding your award or the process of accepting it.  We are happy to assist you.  If you are experiencing difficulties with your PIN or Banner ID number, please contact our Registrar's Office. 

UPPER CLASS:  We will begin to review upper class awards in the next few weeks.  Students will be mailed a copy of the award, and, then, will utilize Banner to accept it.  If you have not already done so, please file your 2009/2010 FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

2009/2010 FAFSA

Thank you to all who attended College Goal Sunday at JCU yesterday, February 8th.  We hope you found the day helpful in completing the 0910 FAFSA.  For those of you who were unable to attend, make sure to file your FAFSA soon, even if that means completing an estimated FAFSA.  You can always update that estimate once your taxes are filed.  If you still have concerns or questions regarding the completion of the FAFSA, please feel free to attend one of our FAFSA nights that will be held on the following evenings here at JCU:

Tuesday, February 10th:  5:00-7:00pm

Wednesday, February 18th:  5:00-7:00pm

Thursday, February 26th:  5:00-7:00pm

College Goal Sunday, February 8, 2009

Do you need help filing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for 2009-2010? Well, the JCU Office of Financial Aid is here to help! Sunday, February 8th is a a nation-wide event called College Goal Sunday. Financial aid professionals from JCU and other local colleges will be available to help families complete the FASFA. You do not have to have your 2008 taxes complete in order to file the FAFSA--you can use 2007 information as an estimate.

Where: John  Carroll University, Dolan Science Center

When: Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 2:00pm

Who: All families that need assistance filing the FAFSA

How: Register online in advance at http://ohiocollegegoalsunday.org/index.html 

What: Bring any 2008 tax information if available (tax return and W2s) or 2007 information, current bank statements, value of investments, driver's license, and social security numbers for both the student and parent
