(A New Season)
Dear Readers-
Wow did March go by fast. I know I have said in my last post as well about how fast the time goes- but it truly has been a blink.
Tunisia, Africa for 10 ten days over spring break was breathtaking! I rode camels, rode in jeeps and even camped in the Sahara Desert. The sunset in the Sahara is the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. It was an immersion into a completely different culture and all the more rewarding. We visited mosques and went to a french- spoken service for mass. Everyone even bought and wore there own head wrap. It was ten days of amazing traveling, but also ten days with unforgettable new friends.
I went to Greece with my history class the following weekend. The first day we went to Nap lion and the second in Athens. We saw many ruins but my two favorite were: reading the letters of Paul standing and walking where he was so many thousands of years ago, and the Parthenon. The view from the Acropolis is as astounding.
The next day after I arrive back from Greece- my parents came to Rome! It was a big celebration for my 21st birthday- a traditional Italian meal with our waiter not speaking much English and 40 plus friends met up with the dinner crew in Campo Dei Fuori (Il Boccanale exactly). It was a night that will never be forgotten and tough to beat.
I went to Cinque Terra and Florence with my parents that weekend and even though it rained the entire time- the hike was enjoyable and seeing The David in person is so such better than any picture.
As some of you may know, Laura Nowicki, a fellow JCU student and I went to Paris this weekend. One of my favorite trips! We saw just about everything but the Arc Di Triumph, Luxembourg Gardens and the Opera House were my favorites.
Off to Ireland on Thursday until Tuesday with my closest of friends that I have made here. The new spring season brings such a sense of appreciation. It is hard to believe my time here is already done....
Everyone is avoiding the end of this experience. It has truly been life changing and an opportunity of a life time. I highly recommend to study abroad to any student- it is worth every obnoxious piece of paperwork you have to go through.
